Ghosts – Sure, Why Not?

The Trinity

The Holy Trinity is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Blue: Hey, we're ghosts! Green: There's three of us!

Haha, no, it's not you. It refers to our eternal God. Red: We're eternal.

It's about Jesus who suffered death on the cross and descended to hell. Green: If even Jesus ends up in hell, no one stands a chance.

Then he defeated Satan, thus saving humankind such that we may enter heaven. Red: We could totally beat up Satan.

Then Easter morning, he rose again, ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the father. He shall come again to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom shall have no end.

Blue: Judging the living and the dead is definitely our thing. Green: You sure you're not talking about us? Red: The eternal kingdom is ours.

I think this person is missing the most important part of the story.

Ghosted on Valentine’s Day

Blue: Looks like it's Valentine's Day again. Green: Sure is. The humans are being all... affectionate.

Blue: They'd rather rub against each other than do anything intellectual or creative. Green: Ridiculous corporeal beings.

Blue: BOO! Green: BOO!

Blue: Rather rub against each other than notice we are haunting them. Green: Pitiful.

To the Fullest

Blue: What does it mean exactly to live life to the fullest or cherish every moment?

It's so easy to live life playing it safe all the time, never taking risks. Living life to the fullest means embracing those risks and reaping the rewards. It means taking that trip, applying for that job, telling someone you love them, pursuing your dreams...

Red: And all those things are required for a human life to be well-lived?

Red: That's terrible.

Blue: Humans already feel obligated to do all these things are more, for fear of missing out, and it's a major source of anxiety and depression when they can't or don't.

Green: And here you are, their doubts and fears made flesh, confirming that if they miss a single accomplishment or opportunity, they have failed and their lives are meaningless.

Red: Striking such terror into the hearts of humans is our job. It won't bring your own human life any worth or meaning.

Three Ghosts, Three Choices

What the-? What is this? Blue: We're ghosts. Green: Prepare to be haunted. Red: Fear us.

Pfft. I don't believe in ghosts. Green: We're literally right here in front of you.

No such thing as ghosts. You're just an illusion. Either I'm seeing things or someone is playing some trick on me.

Blue: So the most likely explanation for our appearance is that you are suffering from an undiagnosed brain disease causing you to see and hear us? Green: Or someone dislikes and disrespects you enough to trick you into believing this might be the case?

Red: Or we are real ghosts who are really here and speaking to you right now? In which case you must reevaluate everything you thought you knew.

Hmmm... I don't know. I'll have to think about it. Green: We'll be here.

The scariest thing about a ghost encounter just might be decision paralysis.

Blue, Green, and Red

Red: Hey! What's up? Blue: Nothing, Red. Green: Can't we hover over this bench in peace?

Red: I've been haunting this big house nearby. I was thinking we could use it as a base of operations for our haunting. Blue: Why would we want to do that?

Red: I'll be there if you change your minds. See you around.

Blue: Screw it. Want to go check out the house? Green: Are you actually warming up to Red? Blue: Don't push it.
