And now, for another fuzzy, predictive session of….
Here’s To You!
So I raise my glass and say, “Here’s to you, groundhog!”
That’s right. Today, February 2, some groundhog in Pennsylvania emerged from his little hole, saw his shadow, shrieked, dived back into his hole, and shut the door with a sign that read “Will Return in 6 Weeks”. Hopefully by then, he thinks, the scary shadow will be gone.
It is on this day we give praise to the groundhog. A creature whose presence on every other day of the year means woe to your lawn is today a cute, furry, little meteorologist. Isn’t that adorable? They redeem themselves so nicely. While crawling out of their holes on a bright enough day may scare them, making them hide from their shadows, you’d think they’d be able to outwit those traps the Animal Control folks set. Oh, well.
So this is for you, cute fuzzy underground rodent, telling us what the weather will be like over the coming weeks. You fill that void between MLK Day and Valentine’s Day. You inspired some Bill Murray movie. You’re fun to see crawling around, because it’s fun to see cute little creatures around. So you rule. :b:
That’s six more weeks of winter folks. The groundhog has spoken.
