Women in power, awesome. But these women in power? Fail. Women like them make all women look bad.<\/p>\n
What the hell is your big problem with youth culture? Or youth in general? It seems every time you open your mouth, it’s to decry the “horrors” of video games or music or the inevitable irresponsibility of young people. Even your daughter called you out on that crap!

\nI don’t know what you think to accomplish by this. What does it accomplish? Oh, just the continuing trend of alienating youth from the political system, leaving it a thing for only the grey-haired. Sure, politicians like to do little token things here and there to try to win the favor of young voters, but as long as they’re also bitching about young people being stupid and lazy and corrupted, they’re not going to get far.<\/p>\n
Seriously. V-chips? School uniforms? Zero tolerance policies? Curfews? Tougher penalties for underage drinking? Video game restrictions? This is why you’re turning off youth. You’re punishing them for being young. You’re making yourself out to be the bad guy. No amount of little speeches at colleges or other little outreach activities are going to counter that.<\/p>\n
And you wonder why the 18-24 voter group has such a low turnout? It’s because you’re their enemy and thus have given them no reason to vote for you. Party ties are about all they’d have, as well as those especially politically minded, but everyone else, they aren’t bothering to go to the polls because you’ve given them no reason to. You call them immature idiots who need to be controlled and hidden from what YOU deem inappropriate, yet you expect them to be all like “Yay! Clinton in 2008!”<\/p>\n
And shame on all your supporters. Funny thing is, they all probably hate the Patriot Act, yet they support you, when your ruthless restrictions on young people, essentially training them to be deprived of their rights because of what the government decides is safe and unsafe for them, is exactly the sort of thing that enables things like the Patriot Act to exist in the first place. You’re training youth to accept that they have no privacy rights or any other rights when it comes to safety. These trained people will be voters.
