Five Alive should be sold more in the USA!<\/b><\/p>\n
What’s Five Alive? It’s a kind of juice, under the Coca-Cola umbrella. It’s delicious. It used to be around a lot in the United States back when I was little. In concentrate form, anyway. I liked it. Then didn’t have it any more for a while. Stopped selling it I guess.

\nWhat’s in it? The normal kind is a mix of five fruits: orange, grapefruit, lemon, tangerine, and lime. Mmmmm, good. Tangy! Not too sugary or sweet either. Not thick like some juices are. Just right. There’s a Berry kind too, with citrus and berry mixtures, still five total. I forget the exact make up. Also a Tropical one.<\/p>\n
But they don’t sell it in this country! They have it in Canada. It was back in 2001 I rediscovered Five Alive on a ski trip in Quebec, and drank it like there was no tomorrow. Trips to Canada after that, I’d always try to bring a whole bunch back across the border. I still have some from my last stash. Well, from 2003 and 2004, so it’s kind of old now, but might still be safe to drink. Think I had one of them a year ago, a can of the berry kind, and was okay, just tasted like can a little bit.<\/p>\n
Seriously, though, why the hell isn’t Five Alive in the USA anymore? Last I knew, the regular kind was still being sold in concentrate in the frozen section in some stores. Don’t know if it’s still there.<\/p>\n
You know what the closest equivalent would be? Sunny Delight. Sunny Delight sucks! It’s got the same five fruits, except take out the lemon and put in apple. And it’s thick and nasty.<\/p>\n
Five Alive = win
\nSunny Delight = fail<\/p>\n
While typing this, I’ve been thinking that I could always just buy those five fruits, peel them, shove them into a blender, strain, and enjoy. I just might do that, now that I think about it.<\/p>\n
Still, though, it’s not right. It’s a perfectly good juice. No artificial colors or flavors. Yummy stuff. Oh, and damn good with Triple Sec, hehe.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
