According to a trans activist friend of mine, apparently, in New York City, the average age at which homeless trans youth become homeless is 13.5 years.<\/p>\n

Average!<\/p>\n

I mean, I’ve written before about how parental love isn’t exactly as unconditional as conventional belief would have you think. But even knowing that, it’s so pathetic that parents would kick out kids who are in middle school or younger for any reason really, but still so much more mindblowing that it’s about something so ridiculous as the kids not acting the part of the gender their genitals tell them to be. How fucking petty and heartless can you goddamn get?!<\/p>\n

I’ll bet these parents think they love these kids, too. I’ll bet lots of people think that. I guess the mere idea that they might not despite some clear evidence to the contrary here is just too much. \ud83d\ude44<\/p>\n
