YOU SUCK!<\/b><\/font><\/p>\n Here’s yet another pack of society’s dregs. People who, for whatever dumbass reason, will strictly limit themselves to liking or even listening to a specific kind of music. There’s a bunch of these for every imaginable genre. They only listen to Baroque period classical. Maybe they refuse to listen to anything other than Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby. For some, if it was made before 1997, it sucked. There are others who will only listen to The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, and Eric Clapton. Perhaps some denounce anything that isn’t 1980’s techno.<\/p>\n Whatever. You get the point (if your IQ is at least in the double digits, which is doubtful). Of course, these folks occasionally aren’t satisfied with their own dank sealed cave of no artistic curiosity. They have to insult others for their branched-out tastes. “Ewww, why do you listen to Elvis Presley? He’s oldies. His songs are from before 2003.” A typical example. But let’s not forget: “Anyone who doesn’t listen to Mozart is an uneducated imbecile.”<\/p>\n Granted, anyone who doesn’t like Mozart IS an imbecile, but, well, beside the point. :cute:<\/p>\n How do I know so much about this ridiculous behavior? Well, for one, I’m fucking brilliant. Haven’t you figured that out? Hehehe. Also, sadly, there was a time I myself was like this. It lasted about a year or so before I snapped out of it, but I was very strangely limiting myself for reasons I don’t understand and didn’t understand then either. I strictly kept my music within the boundary of alternative rock from no earlier than 1980. No soft rock. No heavy metal. Yeah, shit, I was avoiding Metallica like the plague back then! Didn’t take long for me to snap out of that and realize Metallica kicks all kinds of ass, so don’t worry. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n Now? I look at my Winamp playlist. Sure, much of it is the alternative rock I stuck to. What can I say? I love mid-1990’s alternative! Does that mean I scorn everything else? No! Lots of damn good shit from outside of that concentration. What else is on my list? A couple of songs that would classify as sappy easy listening. Lots of classic rock, from Pink Floyd to The Eagles to Elton John to The Beatles to other stuff. Billy Joel. Def Leppard. The Police. You know what else? I have a fucking Shania Twain song on this list! Ha! Look at that. I’ve also got both Led Zeppelin AND The White Stripes.<\/p>\n Oh, my, there’s even a bit of Mozart. Ah, I do love Rondo all turca and Symphony 41. \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n Yeah, looking at this list, it could stand to go even more diverse than it is. I wouldn’t go out of my way to do so, but I sure as hell wouldn’t go out of my way to not do so. I like what I like, and to hell with the useless labels. \nWhat the hell is wrong with you people? I’m not saying you have to like every bit of music ever made, hell no. Stay within what you actually like. If you do that, there’s no trouble here. No. The trouble is when you do actually like a song or artist or whatever, but it falls outside of your preset music category, at which point you refuse to allow yourself to like it or even listen to it. Like the exclusive Led Zeppelin and The Who fan who suddenly finds herself liking The White Stripes. Look, bitch, if you like The White Stripes, let yourself like them.
