<\/p>\nYeah, you knew this was coming. This is Katrina’s tribute to September 11.<\/p>\n
Oh, whatever should I say about the nasty event of five years ago today? Something patriotic? Nah. How I felt when it happened? I’ll get to that. Something about terrorism and war? Nope. Okay, might as well say what I did that day.

\nIt was Tuesday, my junior year of college. My first class on Tuesdays wasn’t until 12:30pm, so I wasn’t up that early. Around 9am, 10am, etc., I overheard my roommates talking about something out in the living room. “Are they evacuating Washington? We’re under attack!” I just stayed asleep and didn’t think much of it. And then I heard them say “Classes have been canceled for the rest of the day.”<\/p>\n
That’s about when I decided I should get out of bed and find out what the commotion was.<\/p>\n
Noooooooooooooo!<\/p>\n
Fuckers! They destroyed my towers! :doitnow: :pissed:<\/p>\n
What the fuck are the odds?! I mean, I first saw those towers back in 1997 on a field trip. Oh, I wanted to go up them so bad. But what was the rush? I mean, it’s not like they’re going to be taken down.

That’s what this day is to me. Yeah, I’m sorry all those people died. And total props for the Flight 93 folks, the ones who went down in Pennsylvania. They went down fighting. They rule for that.<\/p>\n
Today is about the twins.

I’ve seen them twice. First time, the day I took this picture, was May 2, 1997. Eighth grade field trip. The second was January 26, 2001, while riding in a van on Garden State Parkway. We got to a high part of the road on a bridge, and there they were. That was the last time I saw them. \ud83d\ude41<\/p>\n
Screw the Freedom Tower. Won’t be the same. Not unless in its zygote stage when they get started on it, it splits into two genetically identical buildings. That would rule. But I’ve said my piece on that<\/a> already.<\/p>\n Bye bye, towers.
